Following Spain’s 2-0 defeat to Chile, the 2014 World Cup Outright betting has seen some changes in the past 24 hours.
Hosts, Brazil, remain the favourites at 3/1 to win the World Cup on home soil but after Spain losing their second match in Group B and now that they cannot progress to the last sixteen, Boylesports has cut Germany into 4/1 from 9/2.
Following their 3-2 win over Australia, The Netherlands are guaranteed a place in the last sixteen and as a result they are now 10/1 from 12/1 having initially been installed at 33/1 prior to the tournament commencing.
Argentina, who will play their second match in Group F against Iranon Saturday, are priced at 7/2, whilst France are on offer at 16/1 to win the 2014 World Cup outright.
In the Top Goalscorer market, Germany’s Thomas Muller heads the betting at 7/2 to retain his crown, which he shared with three other players in the 2010 World Cup. Muller’s nearest rival in the betting is Robin van Persie who is priced at 5/1 with the Dutch player already having netted three goals.
Liam Glynn, PR Executive at Boylesports said “Punters who had backed Spain to retain the World Cup are now looking for an alternative and have started to support Germany in the past 24 hours and as a result we have clipped Joachim Löw’s squad into 4/1 from 9/2 having laid some hefty bets.”
He added “With Muller, van Persie and Robben all having netted three goals in the tournament so far, all three players are attracting support amongst punters to be crowned the 2014 World Cup Top Goalscorer.”
