Celtic are being linked with a move for Monaco striker Ibrahima Toure, after he admitted that he may have to leave the French club after they flexed their financial muscle to sign Radamel Falcao.
After a very good campaign in Ligue 2 with Monaco last season, Toure has now fallen down the pecking order at the club after Falcao joined, that is despite leading them into Ligue 1, scoring 18 times last season.
Toure accepts that a move may be the best thing for his career as he looks to play regular first team football next season.
He said: “I wanted to show I can play in the French top league. But if the coach doesn’t give you the chance it’s normal to think of an exit.”
Celtic are believed to be keen on the 27-year-old, especially with constant links that Gary Hooper could leave the club in this window.
Hooper has been linked with a move to Hull, and the newly promoted premier league side have already had a bid rejected.
Toure, with his goal scoring abilities would be an ideal replacement for Hooper.
